This is a two-part article.
The first section explains how to enable Recording and Transcription for a Microsoft Teams meeting.
The second section, explains how the Host of a Teams Meeting can provide access to another user allowing them to Download the Teams Meeting Recording.
Enabling Recording and Transcription for a Microsoft Teams Meeting:
- Within your Teams Meeting, click "More" on toolbar (Below the three dots).
- Click "Record and transcribe"
- Click on "Start recording" to begin recording and transcribing the Teams Meeting.
- Alternatively, by clicking "Start transcription" instead Teams will only transcribe the meeting.
Grant Users Access to Download a Microsoft Teams Meeting Recording (Must be the Host of the Meeting):
- Within the Microsoft Teams application, navigate to Meeting you wish to edit Download Access for (It will appear in your Chat Area when ready). Once there, click on "View recap".
- On the next screen select "Watch in browser".
- This is the web landing page for the Teams Meeting. Users can download the meeting recording from this page once they have been granted access. To edit access click on "Share" in the top right.
- Then click on "manage access".
- Search for and select the user whose access you want to edit.
- Change the user's access to "Can edit".
- Click on "Apply".
- Finally, if the user with elevated access visits the Teams Meeting Web Landing page from step 3 they will be able to download the meeting recording.
