This article outlines how to access the Global Address List, via the Address Book in Outlook. The Global Address List contains up to date contact details for users, distribution lists, and shared mail resources within the organization.
- Note: This feature may be particularly useful when email information is updated, and your local Outlook has not yet synced to reflect those updates.
Steps: (Windows Application)
- Navigate to your the Outlook (classic) application. Create a new email, and click on the To field.
- Click the dropdown menu underneath "Address Book:" (top right of the window).
- Select "Global Address List" from the dropdown menu.
- Search for the contact you wish to find in the search bar (top left of the window).
- Click the --> button to search.
Steps: (Outlook Web Application)
- Navigate to the Outlook Web Application here: https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/mail/
- Select "New Mail".
- Click on the To field.
- Select "Default Global Address List" on the left.
- Search for the contact you wish to find in the search bar on the top.
