Hi Everyone,
Now that we've completed the migration of Jira and Confluence to the cloud, I wanted to share a few tips and tricks to help you get comfortable in the new environment and take advantage of what the SaaS platform has to offer.
As a reminder, the URLs (https://jira.acord.org and https://confluence.acord.org) and your existing credentials continue to work the same as before. No action is required to keep using them.
🔑 Quick wins to try this week
- Install the Atlassian mobile apps. One of the biggest benefits of being on the cloud. You can now access Jira and Confluence from your phone or tablet. Search "Jira Cloud" and "Confluence Cloud" in the App Store or Google Play and sign in with your normal credentials. Great for triaging tickets or reviewing pages on the go.
- Update your profile picture. User avatars did not migrate from on-prem. Click your avatar in the top right, go to Profile, and upload a new photo so your comments and mentions are easier to spot.
- Recreate your bookmarks. Page paths in Confluence Cloud are slightly different from the on-prem version, so any direct page bookmarks you had saved in your browser may need to be re-saved. The top-level URLs still work.
📄 Confluence tips
- New editor. The Cloud editor layout has changed. It's cleaner and more modern but takes a few minutes to get used to. Slash commands (/) are your friend for inserting tables, status badges, action items, panels, and more.
- Find your saved filters and favorites. Favorites and personal shortcuts did not carry over. You'll find all your saved filters in one consolidated list. Just re-favorite the ones you use most so they show up in your sidebar again.
- Custom templates. A handful of custom page templates need to be recreated in Cloud. If your team relied on one and it isn't there, open a ticket and we'll help rebuild it.
- Try the global search. Cloud search is significantly faster and smarter. Search across all spaces and Jira at the same time from the top bar.
🧩 Jira tips
- Saved filters & JQL still work. Saved filters migrated over. If you used startOfYear() or other JQL functions, they'll continue to work. You may just need to update the filter via JQL view rather than the basic dropdown.
- Boards. If a board you used isn't showing up, it's likely tied to a filter that needs a quick refresh. Reach out to the helpdesk and we'll get it sorted.
- Quick-create issues. Press C from anywhere in Jira to create an issue without leaving the page.
🤖 New capabilities worth exploring
- Atlassian Intelligence (AI). Now available in both Jira and Confluence. Summarize long pages, generate meeting notes, rewrite content, and ask natural-language questions about your content. Look for the sparkle icon in the editor.
- Automation. Jira Cloud has a robust built-in automation engine (no add-ons needed). If you have a repetitive task such as auto-assigning tickets, transitioning statuses, or sending reminders, it's worth a few minutes to build a rule under Project settings → Automation.
🎓 Free training & community
Atlassian University has free, on-demand courses for both Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud — a great way to ramp up quickly:

- Atlassian Community: community.atlassian.com
