We’re excited to announce new customization options in Microsoft 365 Copilot that give you more control over how responses are generated. These options allow you to choose between speed, depth, and enhanced reasoning based on your needs.
What’s New?
You’ll now see the following modes in the dropdown menu:

What is GPT‑5.2?
GPT‑5.2 is an enhanced version of GPT‑5, offering improved reasoning, accuracy, and flexibility. It’s not a completely new generation, but a refined update for better performance.
How to Access These Options
- Open Copilot and click the dropdown in the upper-right corner.
- Select the mode that best fits your task.
If you don’t see these options:
- Quit Copilot by right clicking the Copilot icon on your taskbar and selecting “Quit.”
- Re-launch Copilot.
- If you still don’t see the options, your machine is likely pending a reboot to install the necessary patches. Please restart your computer and try again.
